The team of head coach Martin Schwalb has finished the past season with the best result of its young club history, and improved their records compared to the year before by eight.

Besides winning the vice-championship of the strongest league in the world, they won the final of the EHF Cup Winner's Cup against Ademar Leon, the Spanish team of the SCHLECKER CUP 2006 which has finished this season on third place in front of FC Barcelona. Both last year's finalists are qualified for the EHF Champions League 2007/08. Being the topscorer of the Bundesliga, Kyung-Shin Yoon (326 goals) has scored 109 goals more last year, than he did at his former team in 2005/06.
